Most local SEO advice is generic because most people giving it have never run a diagnostic on your specific business. They don't know your market, your competitors, or your existing profile. They write blog posts about what 'usually' works.

I don't work that way. Before I recommend anything, I run every business through a structured 5-dimension diagnostic. This takes about 30 minutes per business. It's the same process whether you're a barbershop in Zamalek or a law firm in Los Angeles.

Dimension 1 — GBP Completeness: I open your Google Business Profile and check 12 specific elements. Your category selection (primary and secondary), business description, service listings, products, photos (quantity, quality, and recency), posts (frequency and content), Q&A section, attributes, booking button, hours, short name, and website link. Most businesses score below 50% on this dimension because they filled out the basics years ago and never revisited. Google changes GBP features quarterly. What was complete six months ago is incomplete today.

Dimension 2 — Review Profile: I look at three numbers: total review count, average rating, and response rate. Then I look at velocity — how many reviews you get per month. A business with 200 reviews that hasn't gotten a new one in 3 months signals stagnation to Google. I also check your responses: generic 'thank you' replies are better than nothing, but specific, personalized responses drive higher engagement signals.

Dimension 3 — Website & Content: I check whether your website supports your local SEO goals. Do you have location-specific pages? Is your schema markup correct? Do you have content targeting service + location keyword combinations? A beautiful website with no location pages is a beautiful website that doesn't rank locally.

Dimension 4 — Local Citations: I run a citation scan to check where your business is listed and whether your NAP (name, address, phone) is consistent across all platforms. Mismatches are the #1 silent killer of local rankings. One wrong character in your phone number on a directory you forgot about can suppress your entire profile.

Dimension 5 — Competitive Positioning: I look at who ranks above you for your key search terms and analyze what they're doing differently. Sometimes the fix is simple — a competitor has 3 more GBP categories than you. Sometimes it's structural — they have 50 more citations. But you can't know until you look.

At the end of 30 minutes, you get a scored assessment across all 5 dimensions and a clear answer: what needs to change, what order to change it in, and whether you need ongoing help or a one-time fix.

I've done this for 4 businesses so far. Every single one uncovered at least one blind spot the owner didn't know existed. If you're wondering what your blind spots are, that's what the free consultation is for.
